J. Crow’s® Wine Mulling Recipe
Simple steps for a delicious brew
Our exclusive J. Crow’s® Wine Mulling Mix features an all-natural blend of coriander, clove, orange peel and anise. For a delightful spiced wine brew, start by combining three parts of wine to one part fresh apple cider and place it over medium-low heat. Mix in a healthy dollop of honey (or sugar) to taste as the mixture begins to warm. Fill one of the tea bags provided with J. Crow’s® Wine Mulling Mix (30 grams will spice three gallons) and gently stir. Heat the mulled wine to a gentle simmer and cook for 15 minutes or more, tasting as the brew continues to intensify. Serve warm and enjoy.
Tips for making the best mulled wine:
- Choose a wine that’s lower in alcohol by volume.
- Adjust the wine to cider ratio to suit your personal taste.
- Honey is the preferable sweetener for its soothing texture and rich flavor. Experiment with infused natural honeys for unique results.
- Never allow the mulled wine to boil. A gentle simmer is just right!
- The longer the mixture simmers, the stronger the brew. Taste after 15 minutes and leave over heat until the mulled wine reaches the desired intensity.
